I will not claim that Africa has the best beaches, but it sure comes very close. Here are five of my favorite beaches in Africa.

Sharm el-Sheikh beach

Sharm el-Sheikh provides warm, crystal waters and wide beaches that are great for swimmers and sunbathers and it's the gateway to some of the best diving in the world, along the reefs of the Red Sea.

Diani Beach

Diani beach is about 13 miles stretch of palm-fringed beach and is kept pristine and clear of seaweed by the coral reef just offshore. Diani beach has become one of Kenya's top places to holiday.

Nungwi beach, Zanzibar, Tanzania

Zanzibar is known to have some of the best beaches in Africa. To choose one as the best is, therefore, not an easy task. However, Nungwi beach takes the mantle by a very small margin. The beach has become a popular holiday destination, where palms casually amble onto a beach that dissolves gradually into shades of turquoise.

Anse Soleil, Mahe, Seychelles.

Anse Soleil is a peaceful, private and very romantic beach from which to watch the sun set. It bordered by a jungle and boulders that end just where the beach begins.

Belle Mare, Mauritius

The beach is know for its fine white sand, and provides secluded places where you can relax and enjoy the calm shallow water as you wallow away the lazy days.
